History
The Otero Author’s Circle was founded in 2025 by local authors Ryal McMurry, Brenda Dorsey, and Stephanie Hale with a shared vision of creating a professional and supportive community for writers in Otero County, New Mexico. Recognizing the need for a unifying organization that could both showcase local talent and provide encouragement for new voices, the founding members established the Circle as a prestigious literary association. Though newly formed, the Circle is built on the strong foundation of collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to elevating the literary presence of Otero County for years to come.
